SUMMARY:Special Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Board if the Oxford Hills Honey Bee Club has called a Special Meeting for Saturday\, May 14\, 2022 at 1:00 pm. \nThe purpose of the meeting is to vote on proposed changes to the club bylaws and to elect officers. As explained in the attached minutes from the 4/9/22 meeting the major change to the bylaws to the bylaws would be to move the Annual Meeting from December to August during the annual picnic. We have a much larger attendance and the weather is not a factor\, as it can be in December. To make the changes before this year’s picnic requires a Special Meeting to officially vote on the changes. Please refer to the attached bylaws Draft which highlights all the proposed changes. \nThe last election was held in 2019\, with members agreeing to let those officers and directors continue in office during the pandemic when elections could not be held. If the proposed Bylaws are approved officers will be elected at the new Annual Meeting date in August. A vote will be held at this Special Meeting to allow the current officers to continue until the August Annual Meeting. \nThe Current Officers and Board Members (elected December 2019): \nPresident – Chris Easton \nVice President – Buck Gouin \nTreasurer – Barbara Haskell \nSecretary – Carol Cottrill \nPast President – Kevin Farr \nDirectors (three-year term – expiration year noted): \nJim Cottrill (2020) \nCarl Nadeau (2021) \nLinda Hooker (2022) \nUPDATE!! \n  \nFollowing the special meeting at the UU Church we will be doing a demonstration on splitting a hive.  The demonstration will be using the club hive at the Extension office.  Everyone is invited to come to see Gerry Record and Chris Easton split the hive.  We will talk about the different ways to split a hive and why you might use each one. \nCarol Cottrill \nOHHBC Secretary
